Description
Mid-Atlantic Waste Systems is a family-owned and operated business that is one of the nation’s leading dealers of equipment for the waste and recycling industry. We're currently looking to add a Service Technician who is willing and able to work both in truck service at our Easton, MD shop, and on the road for our compactor service department. If you're a confident mechanic, with experience with electrical troubleshooting, hydraulics, and welding skills, who is looking for variety in their everyday work, we'd like to talk to you!

As a Service Technician, you will:
  • Follow all safety procedures such as lockout/tagout, fire watch, and fall protection protocols.
  • Repair and or replace motors, pumps, cylinders, and valves.
  • Adhere to requirements and maintenance needs of equipment being serviced, making it safe for our customers.
  • Torch and cut old chutes, guide rails, etc. for removal
  • Install trash compactors, fabricate chutes, and install cardboard balers as needed.
  • Complete preventative maintenance repairs-like replacing or rotating tires and completing vehicle component lubrication and replacement, some electrical system repairs, and cooling system maintenance on gas and diesel engine vehicles.
  • Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) in a thorough and timely manner.
  • Partner with the service manager to learn new skills using Mid-Atlantic Waste Systems technician training and hands-on coaching.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license.
  • Possess or can obtain a DOT medical card.
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Possess a working mechanical knowledge, including the use of hand tools, power tools, measuring devices.
  • Experience with basic welding, cutting, and layout operations.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair electrical and hydraulic circuit component issues.
  • Ability to frequently kneel, bend, squat, push, pull, and reach.
  • Must be able to lift and move more than 25lbs without assistance.
  • Must be able to get into and out of various vehicles without assistance.
  • Have your own tools.
