Mid-Atlantic Waste Systems is a heavy equipment dealer with over 150 Team Members and 8 locations throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. We are looking for a Director of Human Resources to join our senior leadership team and help us more perfectly achieve our vision of being a place where talented and motivated people work collaboratively in a supportive and high-performing environment to help our customers succeed. As our Director of Human Resources, you will:
- Be a member of Mid-Atlantic’s senior leadership team which also includes the CEO, VP of Sales, and VP of Finance.
- Collaborate with leaders throughout the company to develop and execute HR Strategies that align with company objectives, growth, and long-term success.
- Create and manage talent acquisition and recruitment strategies that enable the company to urgently fill positions with people who are a technical and behavioral fit.
- Implement training, development, and career path programs that create, operationalize, and track employee-specific plans.
- Work with managers throughout the company to develop succession plans for all positions.
- Manage the implementation and continuous improvement of our performance management system.
- Develop and execute strategies that enhance employee engagement, job satisfaction, and retention.
- Manage and assess culture initiatives, including continual reinforcement of our mission, vision, and values.
- Develop and manage compensation and benefits programs, including the 401k program, while complying with labor laws and regulations.
- Manage the HR department budget and collect and analyze HR data to measure the effectiveness of our programs and initiatives.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in HR leadership and management, with a proven track record of success.
- Strong leadership, team management, and decision-making abilities.
- Visionary thinking and the ability to set and execute a strategic HR agenda.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Experience in a company with multiple locations.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 20% regionally.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
